Make a wish - Creating a wood effect background.

Hi everyone, It's Donna here today with a tag which looks like a piece of wood....well hopefully it does....a bit!! This is a really quick and simple effect to achieve. Apply a couple of blobs of  Fresco paints  (green and white) onto a  size 8 manila tag  and scrap down the paint using an old store/credit card....make sure it is an old one though lol. Once that is dry, then grab a ruler and a black fine liner pen and start to randomly draw in the 'planks' to give the wood effect and also add little dots to represent the nails. Add a little bit of brown Gelatos  randomly as shown on the photo to darken it down a bit. Not bad huh?! I can't take credit for this method as I saw it somewhere on my travels, probably Pinterest, but I really liked the way it looked so was dying to try it out for myself. Always Sparkle - Envelope Book Tutorial by Sue

Good afternoon and happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend! It's Sue here with my envelope book. Making your own books and journals is very popular at the moment, and I wanted to have a go. I also wanted to use supplies that I had already as it's just after Christmas and I'm already in 2022's craft budget. So I have quite a few of these -  Colour Craft lustre paints. Loads of these - rather posh DL pearlised envelopes. I bought a box full in a closing down sale, so have a box full less 3! And these, my favourite bright StazOn inks. So to work (well play really, I'm making it all up as I go along) I started by painting my envelopes with the paints, then added some stencilling in a contrasting colour. I've used totally different colours so that I've got a choice of colours for my toppers. I've used metallics on this one and they are really nice! For the 'in between
